Indonesia & Thailand PART 1
Hi Guys,
I haven't been posting on here since 9 months, but now I am back with lots of pictures from this summer, winter, nye and much more! I will try to update the blog more often, because this is a good excuse for me and my friends to stroll around the city, find new hotspots/ cafes/ bars etc and take lots of pictures.
Since i don't really like these throwback posts I will start posting from this summer and then work my way towards the present events.
On the 21th of August 2016 me and my best friend Sina started our trip. From Frankfurt Airport we flew to Dubai and from there to Bangkok. Since this was my first time in Asia I was super excited for the people, the nature and of course the FOOD. I already knew that especially food will be super cheap while being extremely delicious and healthy.
We only spent 2 nights in BKK, then we had our next flight to Jakarta. From there we took the train to Yogyakarta, where we spent a couple of exhausting but crazily beautiful days until we took the ferry to Bali. On Bali we arrived in Denpasar, took a complete ripoff ride to Seminyak and stayed there for a while. After we had enough of surfing and exploding power cables in hostels (we had to evacuate our hostel because a cable exploded and started catching fire) we agreed on leaving Semninyak and headed to Ubud. In Ubud we spent most of the time doing yoga, getting attacked by monkeys, testing luwak coffee and exploring the area.
Next stop on our route were the Gilli Islands where we decided to indulge ourselves by booking a nice apartment on Gilli Trawangan. By the time we had enough of drunk australians and quite high prices on the island we were already on the boat to Lombok, our next destination. Later Sina and me agreed that Kuta, an area in Lombok, was our favourite part of the trip, since there were fewer tourists than on Bali but the nature was as stunning! Also we met some friends of Sina with whom we spent some days surfing, drinking or doing yoga.
After a time that seemed way too short we had to take the boat back to Bali where we spent our last days in Uluwatu. To everyone that travels to Bali I can highly recommend going to this area, because there were few tourists and amazing (cheap) food. We ended our trip in Bangkok where we had another 3 days until we finally had to say goodbye and step in the plane back home.
Overall the trip was an amazing experience with many different impressions of people; places and cultures. Often the magic of the moment is hard to capture in pictures, but Sina and me tried our best to do so (i was mostly annoyed when Sina took 63548 pictures of everything but looking back at it i am super happy to have all these memories on a hard drive).
Bangkok, Thailand
The best Phad Thai around the corner from our Hostel ( Bedstation Hostel - loved it)

On the train from Jakarta to Yogyakarta
Me at a street market in Yogyakarta, doing what i do best: eat
Waking up at 4:30 to see the sunrise over Borobudur..
...and then we explored Borobudur itself
The day after we woke up at 4:00 am to see another sunrise, this one is next to the volcano Bromo

The monkey forest in Ubud
This was the sunset from a restaurant in Ubud
And this is Sina posing in front of the rice fields ✌✌
One of the coffees we tried is made out of cat poo and considered to be the most expensive coffee in the world, the luwak coffee
The beautiful Canang Sari are daily offerings of the balinese people to their gods, you see them everywhere; in temples, streets, at the beach... (i stepped on at least 5 of them by accident because they are literally everywhere)
While we had a look around Pura Taman Saraswati temple we bumped into the french guy (forgot his name, sorry) whom we met in our hostel in Seminyak
The Tenegungang waterfall in Ubud was also damn pretty
One stop of our day tour through Ubud was at a hot spring which was crazily beautiful
Part 2 will follow tomorrow!
